DANCE CLASS
The focus of this class is on learning how to dance with just one routine/style being taught each week. A whole host of different styles will be covered over the course of the weeks/months so you'll get lots of variety such as Jazz, Musical Theatre and Jive to name just a few. Some weeks will be more energetic than others, but generally it's a low to moderate intensity class and good exercise for the brain and the body.
I start each class with a warm up and stretch before I teach you the routine of the day. This is broken down into sections to make it easier for you to learn. By the end of the session you'll be able to dance the whole routine all the way through twice, before finishing with a cool down stretch.
Please note I don't offer classes focusing on one style of dance only. Remember, this is a form of line dancing without the need for partners. I do sometimes teach styles that are traditionally partnered, but you can learn the basic elements of these and have fun with it without worrying about treading on anyone else's toes!
DANCE FIT
This class is aimed at improving fitness. It's a bit like interval training, where you'll have bouts of lower intensity and higher intensity dancing, because I'll include slow, moderate and fast tempo music. You'll get the same mix of styles as with the Dance Class, but instead of being spread across the year, you'll dance them over the course of 3 or 4 weeks, because you'll dance about 8 routines in one session. There will be more of a leaning towards the Ballroom and Latin styles of dance but not exclusively.
You'll be able to pace yourself through the session because I'll show you the steps we're about to dance much of the time. It means you won't be constantly 'on-the-go'. You'll probably find it of moderate intensity and a good workout, still exercising your brain when trying to remember each routine. As with all my classes I make sure you are warmed up before we get going and finish the session with a cool down stretch.
